The x71 is a filter-free multispectral lens that enables pixel-accurate recording from 365 nm to 1,100 nm without refocusing or fixed aperture, with a resolution of 71 MP.
As a system, the x71 series bridges the gap between pure ultraviolet photography and infrared photography above 1000 nm.
The x71 serves as a comprehensive documentation tool for scientific and materials analysis, forensics, and artwork examination. With the x71, the origin, authenticity, or condition of a work can be analyzed by generating exposure sets across up to 11 different wavelength ranges and their combinations in a fully automated process within seconds, depending on the model.
A multispectral image analyzer can decompose a single multispectral image into multiple images to derive distinct analytical results. A multispectral image contains numerous bands—sometimes only three (as in a standard color image), but often many more, even hundreds. Each band is a grayscale image representing scene brightness based on the sensor’s spectral sensitivity for that band. In such an image, each pixel is associated with a vector of values across the different bands, known as the spectral signature of the pixel.

Multispectral Image Examples:

Software filters process analog information specific to each spectral region, while automatically generating color images, false-color composites (UV/IR/VIS), 3-color channels, and grayscale images.
Shading Comparison:

Different layers of the drawing are clearly distinguishable. Within the infrared range, identifiable auxiliary lines may be revealed, which served as perspective aids for copying or scaling modifications.

Individual rock samples and their labels were recorded using automatic scanning in the VIS, NIR (940 nm) and UV (365 nm) spectral ranges, in sequence to visualize faded numbers and inscriptions.
For geological research, however, the side effects of the stone’s characteristic responses due to its composition in different spectral ranges are also remarkable.
