Semi-robotic A0 large-format scanner enables true-scale digitization.
UV/IR-free and ozone-free illumination system. Light intensity is controlled below 2,500 lux to meet eco-friendly preservation standards. The self-developed Fresnel lenses for our lighting unit deliver prominent technical advantages over lighting systems from other manufacturers. They deliver uniform light distribution and even illumination across the surface, effectively eliminating unwanted shadow gradients and glare that tend to appear on over-bright, overly dark or reflective materials.
PLC-controlled motorized lifting columns enable the book cradle to be adjusted up to 25 cm, with an optional extended adjustment range of 40 cm as required.
The scanning platform is engineered for a maximum uniform load capacity of 180 kg, easily supporting ultra-heavy originals. Equipped with integrated micro-sensors, it supports both hand and foot switch operation. Therefore, the Hornet not only provides ultra-gentle non-contact capture for large-format documents and heavy bound volumes, but also boasts outstanding operational ease, fully meeting the requirements of modern ergonomic workstations.
PLC-controlled process sequences and adjustable pressure sensitivity ensure the glass platen delivers gentle protection to originals. In addition, we have developed multiple optional motor-driven glass pressure modules customized to meet complex requirements of various media and workflows per client demands:
Controller Module 1: Optimizes the opening angle of the glass platen and automatically adapts to book sizes. Glass pressure is only increased when convenient page turning is needed, improving overall throughput and cutting processing time.
Controller Module 2: Optional control modes for fully automatic, semi-automatic or manual operation:
Program 1: Fully automatic full workflow sequence (automated platen movement and auto-triggered scanning at preset time intervals)
Program 2: Semi-automatic workflow (automated platen movement, manually triggered scanning)
Program 3: Manual sequence (all functions controlled independently by manual input)
(1) Eagle Eye matrix point-to-point scanning paired with ISCAN image acceleration technology enables ultra-fast high-definition image capture. An A0 full-color scan at 400 dpi takes only 0.3 seconds
(2) Eagle Eye matrix sensor point-to-point scanning technology delivers stable high-frequency image capture
(3) Years of accumulated image processing expertise underpin ISCAN’s premium color reproduction technology. Compliant with international digitization standards including Metamorfoze and NARA, ISCAN’s color rendition performance satisfies multiple industry specifications.
(4) Fully automatic lifting platform with a 180 kg load capacity to handle heavyweight artifacts
(5) Dual-LED Fresnel lens 3D stereo lighting system supports 3D surface scanning, easily capturing convex textures, rippled surfaces, special inks, metallic pigments and other complex media
(6) Operating noise below 40 decibels. Low running noise creates a quiet working environment
Especially for severely damaged drawings and bound oversized atlases, non-contact scanning perfectly preserves original artifacts. High resolution delivers crisp fine lines, and precise physical positioning eliminates image distortion concerns.

Non-contact scanning safeguards original works from damage far better. Advanced color reproduction technology accurately restores the original natural hues of artifacts, including metallic gold and silver finishes. Applicable media includes cloth, leather, silk, wallpaper and more. Outstanding color reproduction paired with a 15 cm depth of field minimizes restrictions on media thickness.
The scanning platform with a maximum load capacity of 180 kg effortlessly handles ultra-heavy materials such as stone slabs, steel plates, timber and floor tiles.
A0 full-color scanning completes in just 0.3 seconds, widely recognized by mass digitization service providers.
Ideal for scanning reliefs, commemorative medals, oil paintings, prints, semi-dried printed works and more. The 15 cm depth of field combined with non-contact scanning ensures high-quality capture of all types of special materials.
